Curriculum

Unlocking potential through expert knowledge and character

Supported by the trust, the school has developed a well-crafted and ambitious curriculum. This meets the needs of the current key stage 3 pupils very well. It also ensures that they are well prepared for the transition to key stage 4. The school has identified the essential knowledge that pupils need to be taught and when this learning should take place. Teachers have a firm understanding of how the curriculums should be delivered. They make sure that key knowledge is revisited frequently. This helps pupils to retain their learning successfully over time.

Ofsted 2024

  • Our curriculum aims to unlock the potential of our students through expert knowledge and character development so that our students leave us prepared for their next steps

  • Our curriculum aims to ensure all students develop deep, long-lasting knowledge which provides strong foundations for future learning, regardless of their starting points

  • Our curriculum aims to develop accomplished readers, writers and speakers who can communicate, engage and challenge the world around them confidently and critically

  • Our curriculum aims to provide students with knowledge and experiences which transcend their everyday lived experiences whilst acknowledging and celebrating their differences

  • Our curriculum aims to ensure it is underpinned by our CARE principles both within and beyond the classroom

Curriculum Intent

Everything we do is to help our students be successful both inside and outside the classroom. Our curriculum is designed around this belief and our vision and values.

Curriculum Implementation

Accessibility Plan

At Co-op Academy Belle Vue, we are committed to ensuring equal access to education for all students. Our Accessibility Plan outlines how we will continue to enhance the inclusion and participation of students with disabilities in our curriculum and throughout their school experience.

The key objectives of our Accessibility Plan include:

Increasing Access to the Curriculum
We will provide additional support and resources to ensure that disabled pupils can fully participate in all aspects of the curriculum. This includes adapting teaching methods, offering personalised learning plans, and using assistive technology where needed.

Improving Physical Access
We will work to ensure that our school facilities are accessible to all students, including those with physical disabilities. This involves making necessary adjustments to classrooms, playgrounds, and other spaces to remove barriers to mobility and access.

Enhancing the Delivery of Information
We aim to provide all information in accessible formats, including large print, Braille, and digital formats that can be used with screen readers. Our goal is to ensure that disabled pupils and their families can access information as easily as other members of the school community.

Our plan is reviewed annually to track progress and identify new ways to support inclusion and accessibility for all students at Co-op Academy Belle Vue. For more information, please contact us at bellevue@coopacademies.co.uk.
