Welcome Back 

I hope this letter finds you well and filled with excitement for the new academic year. As we reflect on the past week, I am thrilled to welcome you all back to Belle Vue Academy and share some fantastic updates with you.

First and foremost, I want to express our heartfelt gratitude for your continued support and trust in our school. This year, we have experienced significant growth, having doubled the size of our student body and staff. It has been an incredible journey so far, and I am confident that together, we will make this year even more remarkable.

Our students kicked off the new academic year with an Induction Day, giving them the opportunity to familiarise themselves with the unique Belle Vue way. The enthusiasm, curiosity, and dedication displayed by our students during this week have been nothing short of inspiring. It reaffirms our belief that Belle Vue Academy is truly a special place.

We capped off this exciting week with our Community Achievement event, where we celebrated the outstanding efforts of our students. I am thrilled to congratulate all of our stars of the week for their remarkable contributions and achievements (see stars of the week table at the bottom of the letter).

Dates for your diary

Mark your calendars for our upcoming Open Evening, scheduled for September 19th from 5:15pm to 7:30pm. We kindly ask you to help us spread the word and share your unique Belle Vue experience with friends and family. We have already seen significant interest, and we anticipate a busy evening, which is very exciting. If your child is interested in volunteering during the event, please keep an eye out for a letter that will be sent home with more details.

Year 7 Settling in evening | 28th September 5pm - 6:30pm

The 28th September will provide an opportunity for our Year 7 families to visit the academy with your child. Students' books will be on show so they can talk you through their learning and a chance to meet their form tutor to discuss how they have started the year at Belle Vue and if you have any queries or questions for us to further improve their experience. Mrs Hibbert will send our more information at the end of the week. 

CARE Curriculum Family Forum with Mr Haste Monday | 18th September

As we begin a new school year, I am excited to introduce our newly launched PSHE (Personal, Social, Health, and Economic) curriculum, known as the CARE Curriculum, at Co-op Academy Belle Vue. The CARE Curriculum is deeply rooted in our CARE principles and it serves as the foundation for comprehensive personal development.

The CARE Curriculum encompasses a wide range of important areas, including PSHE, RSHE, careers education, citizenship and character development. Our goal is to provide students with a well-rounded education that equips them with the knowledge, skills, and values needed to be healthy, safe and successful in an ever-changing world.

It is important for us as an Academy to keep families informed of the content covered in the CARE curriculum to support you to promote the personal development of our students at home. For the upcoming half term, I would like to share with you the key themes and topics that will be explored by each year group:

Year 7: Transition to Secondary School

In Year 7, our focus is on helping students make a smooth transition to secondary school life. We will also work on character development and safety, both online and in their physical environment.

Year 8: Drugs, Alcohol, and Addiction

Year 8 students will delve into critical topics related to drugs, alcohol, and addiction, fostering responsible and informed attitudes towards these issues.

Year 9: Peer Pressure and Resisting Negative Influences.

Year 9 students will explore peer pressure and strategies for resisting negative influences, including gangs, knives, and drugs.

I would also like to invite you to learn more about our CARE Curriculum content this half term and discuss it further with us at a Family Forum. This forum will be hosted in the Community Room at our academy on Monday, September 18th. There will be two sessions available for your convenience:

Morning Session: 10:40am to 11:10am

Evening Session: 5:30pm to 6:00pm

I plan to host regular Family Forums to keep you informed on the content covered in our CARE curriculum lessons. These will take place every half term following email communication of the upcoming content.

Uniform Expectations

A friendly reminder: If your child has a physical elective and/or a PE lesson, they should wear their PE kit all day on those designated days. On all other days, students must be in full school uniform.

7H	Mr L Dipple	Saira	Saira has been incredible this week, her SLANT is always 100 and the respect she has for everyone around her is inspiring. She also performed a marvellous Mr Twit in my lesson, so well done Saira.
