Co-op Academy Belle Vue Student Councillors

Our student council is made up of one representative from each form group. Students campaign within their form group to take on the role of school councillor. A democratic form vote rooted in British values decides which student represents the voices of the group. This system is set up to reflect the democratic system in the United Kingdom and to ensure that all voices within the academy are heard.

The student council is led by our two head students and meets twice per term to identify the areas in which Co-op Academy Belle Vue can get even better. The school council is positively focussed on making the academy better every day. Once these areas for improvement and development are identified within the school council, the head students share these with the SLT and identify an appropriate comittee to drive this change within the academy.

Our head students report back to the academy student body during assemblies to ensure all students are aware that their voice is not only heard but that it is actively resulting in positive change within our community.

Co-op Academy Belle Vue Student Leaders

These are students from our oldest year group. These students go through a thorough written application process before receiving the status of student leader here at Co-op Academy Belle Vue. These students agree to formal expectations based on the job description to be role models for all students in the Academy and to consistently display our CARE principles.

The application form and job description for the role of Co-op Academy Belle Vue Student Leader can be found here.

These students lead the committees with a group of pioneers to make positive changes in the academy and the community.

Co-op Academy Belle Vue Senior Student Leaders

These are Student Leaders that successfully go through a video application process that is subject to a democratic staff vote. The 6 successful candidates then run a democratic election campaign. The election lasts a week and involves each candidate canvassing the student body to vote for them. Each candidate receives campaign material including posters and badges. Each candidate speaks to the whole school during community ambition time to put their three priorities across. At the end of campaign week, each member of the Academy community votes for their head students. The two students with the most votes become the Head students. The four remaining candidates become deputy head students.
