Dear Families,

I hope this letter finds you well. I am writing to inform you about an exciting event happening at Co-op Academy Belle Vue on Friday, March 1st – our Culture Day Celebration!

At Co-op Academy Belle Vue, we take pride in our diverse community and believe in celebrating the rich tapestry of cultures that makes our academy so special. Culture Day is a special occasion where we come together to recognise and appreciate the diversity within our student body that forms part of #TheBelleVueDifference

On Culture Day, students will have the opportunity to showcase their cultural heritage through various activities and experiences. One of the highlights of the day will be the cultural dress-up, where students are encouraged to wear clothing that represents their cultural background. This allows our students to express themselves proudly and share their traditions with their peers.

We understand that not all students may have access to traditional cultural clothing. In such cases, students are encouraged to creatively represent their cultural heritage through accessories, colours, or symbols that hold significance to their culture, this could be a flag, a football shirt or even a t-shirt of a band or singer.
There are many different ways to express your culture and we encourage students to explore this. Our aim is to create an inclusive environment where every student feels empowered to celebrate their identity, regardless of attire.

In addition to the cultural dress-up, there will be a variety of engaging activities planned for the day. Some of these activities include:

  • Cultural Runway: Students will have the chance to strut their stuff on the runway, showcasing their cultural attire and sharing interesting facts about their heritage.
  • Photo Booth: A designated area where students can capture memories with their friends while dressed in their cultural attire.
  • Cultural Food Tasting: An opportunity for students to sample delicious dishes from different cultures, promoting culinary diversity and appreciation.
  • Cultural Music: A space where students can enjoy music from around the world, immersing themselves in the rhythms and melodies of different cultures.
  • Henna Station: Students can experience the ancient art of henna, creating beautiful designs on their hands or arms, reflecting cultural traditions and symbolism.

We believe that Culture Day not only celebrates our differences but also promotes equality, diversity, and inclusivity among our students. It is a day where we can learn from each other, embrace our uniqueness, and strengthen the bonds within our academy community.

We encourage all students to participate in Culture Day by dressing up in their cultural attire and actively engaging in the day's activities.

Thank you for your continued support, and we look forward to celebrating Culture Day with you and your children on Friday, March 1st. If you have any questions or would like to contribute to the event in any way, please don't hesitate to make contact.

Warm regards,
Mr Daniel Haste
